Mushrooms are one of the easiest soft corals for beginners.

Lighting and Placement
  • Keep light low to moderate, aiming for a PAR range of 50 to 150.
  • Place them in the lower sections of the tank or on the sand bed.
  • Acclimate them slowly if you use brighter light to prevent bleaching. [1, 2, 3]
Water Flow
  • Use low to gentle water movement.
  • Avoid strong, direct currents that can stop them from opening or cause them to detach. [1, 2]
Water Parameters
  • Temperature: 72–78°F (stable within 1 degree).
  • Salinity: 1.023–1.026 specific gravity.
  • pH: 8.0–8.4.
  • Nitrates: 1–20 ppm.
  • Phosphates: 0.03–0.1 ppm. [1, 2, 3, 4]
