Micromussa corals are hardy, slow-to-moderate growing large polyp stony (LPS) corals.
Lighting Requirements
PAR level: Keep lights between 25 to 150 PAR.
Placement: Place colonies on the sand bed or lower rockwork.
Note: Too much light causes bleaching or dull colors, while dim light helps maintain vibrant rainbow color morphs.
Water Flow
Intensity: Low to medium flow.
Goal: Provide just enough indirect movement to keep detritus from settling on the flesh. Avoid harsh, direct laminar flow.
Feeding and Nutrition
Diet: Target feed meaty foods like mysis shrimp, krill, rotifers, or micro-pellets 2 to 3 times a week.
Method: Turn off wavemakers during feeding so polyps can catch food with their tentacles. Keep overall tank nutrients (nitrates/phosphates) low to moderate.
