Blastomussa corals (often called blastos or pineapple corals) are popular, beginner-friendly large polyp stony (LPS) corals known for their fleshy, vibrant polyps.
Lighting
- Intensity: Low to moderate (50–125 PAR).
- Placement: Lower third of the aquarium or shaded areas on the lower rock work/sand bed.
- Warning: Too much light causes bleaching or faded coloration.
Water Flow
- Intensity: Low to moderate, random flow.
- Maintenance: Ensure enough movement to keep detritus from settling on the fleshy tissue, but avoid direct, high-intensity blast flows that damage the polyps.
Feeding
