$60.00
Scolymia is a genus of round, single-polyp stony corals often called scoly or doughnut corals that are famous for their bright, eye-catching colors.
Physical Traits
- Shape: They are round and usually have one mouth in the middle.
- Size: Most grow about 2 to 4 inches wide.
- Colors: They feature bright patterns like red, green, purple, and blue. Rare multi-color types are called “master” or “bleeding apple” scolies.
Aquarium Care
- Lighting: They prefer low to moderate light (about 20 to 150 PAR). Place them on the sand bed so they do not burn.
- Water Flow: They need soft to medium water movement to keep dirt off their bodies.
- Water Quality: Keep the temperature around 77°F. Maintain steady levels of calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity.
- Feeding: Feed them meaty foods like mysis shrimp or small pellets two to three times a week.
